Mr. Herman C S Hui (Chairman)

Herman has been a practicing solicitor in Hong Kong for more than 40 years. He practises mainly in the areas of civil litigation, corporate law, commercial co-operations and cooperate financing. He is also qualified to practise as a solicitor in the United Kingdom and as a solicitor and barrister in Victoria, Australia. His contacts put him in close association with business sectors and gradually got involved with investments and administration in various commercial and industrial organisations. Herman became a scout more than half a century ago and served in various positions in Hong Kong scouting including Leader Trainer, PR Commissioner, International Commissioner and Deputy Chief Commissioner. He was elected as the Chairman of the Asia Pacific Region of the World Scout Organisation for 1998-2001 and also the Chairman of the World Scout Committee 2005-2008, the top position in the World Scout Organisation. Herman has been very keen in promoting volunteer service in Hong Kong. He served in various advisory bodies of the Hong Kong Government and NGOs including the Guardianship Board, Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service, Social Welfare Advisory Committee, Rehabilitation Advisory Committee (as Chairman), Vocational Training Board for People with Disabilities (as Chairman), Advisory Committee on the Support of Employment for People with Disabilities (as Chairman), Lump Sum Grant Independent Compliants Handling Committee (as Chairman) and Committee on Community Support for Rehabilitated Offenders (as Chairman). Currently Herman is still serving in Independent Police Complaints Council, Hospital Authority Public Complaints Committee, Social Workers Registration Board Correctional Services Department Complaints Appeal Board, Council of the Queen Elizabeth Foundation for the Mentally Handicapped (as Chairman), Social Welfare Department Child Fatality Review Panel (as Chairman) and Hong Kong Salvation Army Social Services Advisory Board (as Chairman).
