Mr YEUNG Tak-wah

Mr YEUNG Tak-wah was borne, educated, raised and work in Hong Kong most of his past sixty odd years other than studied in USA a few years back. Helping the underprivileged group is all his purchase life through Social work as well as other capacities. Started a small agency through Kowloon Union Church, after 30 year Wai Ji Christian Service is now become one of the major service providing agencies for people with Intellectually Disabilities. This experience gave him much lesion in how to help small agencies setting up, strengthening up and building up their service through local resource. After leaving Wai Ji, he was invited to join The Secretariat to the Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership Programme under Home Affairs Department. There, he helped to promote Social Enterprise as a model to create job opportunities for the underprivileged groups. The office has vetted 1000 application throughout last 12 years, and recommended to the board for approval. Over 200 projects has granted and being under monitoring by the office. It is reported that nearly 80 % of such projects still carried on providing over 5000 jobs to the public. Mr YEUNG also gave supervision to Macao Special Olympics on the by-monthly basis which enhances the agency staff for their administration ability as well as professional growth. He has been participated in Rehabilitation International conference several time and actively devoted in Asian Conference for Mentally Retardation in 90’s while he served as convener in Committee on MH services, HKCSS (HKJC). Mr YEUNG is experienced in helping other to set up small agency, enhancing their growth, giving guidance to projects management and program planning and execution, reviewing project applications, monitoring the progress work, reporting and finance control.
